Will Fucale beat the record tomorrow?

Zachary Fucale, the Halifax Mooseheads goaltender can go down in QMJHL history as the first goalie to have 100 wins in under 150 games tomorrow night, when the Mooseheads visit the Saint John Sea Dogs. Thus far he has a total of 99 wins in 144 games.

The QMJHL record holder is Jacques Cloutier who achieved 100 wins during his 150th game, 35 years ago on January 6, 1979. The following season, Cloutier brought his total to 142 wins during the regular season, a feat that no other goaltender has ever been able to equal or surpass in the League. Thus far, in 45 QMJHL seasons, only 6 goalies have been able to reach 100 wins, the most recent one being Olivier Roy (BAT & CAP – 2007-2011).

This season, Zachary Fucale has had a total of 22 wins in 31 games and has won his 4 last starts. His goals against average (2.36) in 2013-14 are the best in the entire League.
