(Longueuil, Tuesday November 11, 2003)- The Disciplinary Prefect of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Maurice Filion, today announced his decision further to Sunday November 9 game between the Baie-Comeau Drakkar and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.
A first suspension is imposed to right-winger of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, Maxime Boisclair. During the game, Boisclair received penalty codes 1-78, 1-78, 1-78 and 4-78 for leaving the penalty bench. He then received a penalty code 4-99 for returning on the ice after having been sent away from the game by the referee.
Mr. Filion read the referee’s game report, watched the videotape and, accordingly to article 66,paragraph D and Q (code 4-99) of the QMJHL Rule Book, imposed Maxime Boisclair a five-game suspension (1st sanction) and a ten-game suspension for the 2nd sanction, for a total of 15 games. Also, head-coach René Matte is suspended for two games and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens are fined for an amount of $1000.
Martin Krayzel of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar is suspended for 3 games. Krayzel hit a player who was not in possession of the puck. This kind of move can seriously injure a player. The Baie-Comeau Drakkar receives a $500 fine according to article 66, paragraph D of the QMJHL Rule Book.
All of the suspensions are effective starting today, Tuesday November 11, 2003.
