Lionel Jackson, a Nova Scotia hockey legend, devoted his life to the sport. He was the dedicated equipment manager for visiting AHL and QMJHL teams in Halifax going all the way back to the early 1970s with the Voyageurs. On June 9, 2009, he was awarded the first ever Hockey Nova Scotia Award of Merit during the HNS Awards Ceremony.
Jackson was loved by players and staff alike and will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
